Seeing without being seen

The gathering of information during military reconnaissance missions sets the stage for the subsequent preparation and operation procedures. To ensure that information can still be obtained under difficult tactical circumstances, the technical components concerned must provide consistent faultless performance, regardless of varying geographic as well as climatic conditions.

To ensure the success of military reconnaissance missions, KMW integrates flexible surveillance and reconnaissance systems into existing vehicle concepts.

To guarantee the widest possible reconnaissance range, KMW relies exclusively on high-performance reconnaissance systems. The key component is a sensor head, which is either installed on the vehicle itself or integrated into an extendable mast. The sensor head contains a CCD television camera for daytime surveillance, a thermal imaging unit for night time surveillance, as well as a laser rangefinder. To simplify handling, all sensors are operated from a single console and display unit.
