Modern army: Boxer on the way to Afghanistan

Leipzig, 22 July 2011. “It’s a good day for the soldiers,” says the German Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Werner Freers. “The Boxer is the most modern armoured personnel carrier for

our soldiers in operation and means a tremendous gain in capabilities,” continues Freers. The GTK Boxer sets new standards for protection and mobility, command and control capability, and operational effectiveness. The Army Chief of Staff is pleased that the new transport vehicle can now be used in operations in Afghanistan.
