The expanded mission spectrum of our worldwide customers calls for adequate protection of the tactical forces in all actions, such as patrol or transport operations. During such operations, vehicle crews are under threat from snipers, artillery fragments, mine explosions and NBC attacks.

As the world's technological leader in this sector, KMW offers comprehensive protection equipment for diverse patrol and transport vehicle cabs. The individual driver cabs developed by KMW are independent of the carrier vehicle. KMW supplies proprietary welded full-sized cabs with a defined protection level to the vehicle manufacturer.

Drawing on long-standing experience in the processing of certified armoured steels, KMW is able to design, fabricate and finish welded cabs. The cabs are designed on the premise of leaving the driver cab interior more or less intact.

In addition to the armoured, welded driver cab, the customer can also choose from the following options:

• NBC protection
• Mount weapon stations on the driver roof
• Intercom system
• Rear view vision system

KMW hat den Brückenlegepanzer LEGUAN auf Basis der Kampfpanzer LEOPAR D 1 oder LEOPAR D 2 bereits für die norwegischen, griechischen, belgischen und finnischen Streitkräfte realisiert. Das Verlegesystem kann jedoch auch auf andere gebrauchte oder neue Fahrgestelle von Kampfpanzern aufgebaut werden. So ist es zum Beispiel auch auf Fahrgestellen des polnischen PT91, des U.S.-amerikanischen M1 „Wolverine“ und dem M47/M60 in Spanien im Einsatz.
